PRECONSTRUCTION

Pre-construction is trial before error. It is an opportunity to work through potential problems, analyze budget decisions, and choose the best subcontractors and field staff to help execute work.

During pre-construction we get to know our client and their goals and vision so we can achieve success in the most efficient way. True pre-construction services involve more than performing estimating take-offs and eliciting subcontractor interest during the early parts of the construction phase. Hixon Construction's experience with pre-construction services can add significant value to a project when it is engaged during the project's early stages. We view the pre-construction phase as one of the most critical parts of any project.

The budgeting, reviewing, phasing, planning, and procurement services we perform during this phase are an integral part of the project’s overall success. In addition, the relationships we develop with the owner and architect will be essential throughout the life of the project. Our goals during preconstruction are to provide accurate cost and schedule evaluations and establish a plan for successful construction. Early in the process, we identify and address budget parameters, schedule constraints, phasing requirements, and quality expectations.

We also provide creative ideas and strategies to ensure a high level of value in the finished product. During pre-construction, we have the ability to shape a project's budget, schedule and constructability while providing feedback to the owner. This feedback allows owners to make value-driven decisions while not forsaking their project's program and design intent. While our team's role typically revolves around the issues of cost, schedule and quality, our responsibility is also for the leadership of the overall project team in the quest to accomplish project goals through excellent planning, guidance and documentation.
